On the occasion of the exhibition at the HCB Foundation and the publication of Wright Morris' monograph, Fragments de temps brings together the writings of Wright Morris on photography translated for the first time into French. This book allows us to discover this unknown author in France as well as a founding reflection in the history of the medium. Wright Morris (1910-1998) was one of the first to experiment with the dialogue between text and image in his creations, starting in the 1940s. Wright Morris's essays cover a wide spectrum of subjects and periods: historical photographs of 'Eugène Atget to those of space taken by NASA through the portraits of pioneers in the American West of Solomon D. Butcher, the writings of Susan Sontag and Henry James, as well as through his own photographs and writings .
