Robert Huber & Stephan Vanfleteren / Elvis & Presley
Photographers Robert Huber and Stephan Vanfleteren travelled through America in 1999 in the footsteps of their great hero Elvis Presley, dressed as Elvis & Presley. Dressed in glitter suits and wigs, these two Europeans photographed each other in eleven states of the US, from Times Square to Death Valley. The Belgian Stephan Vanfleteren did this in black and white, the Swiss Robert Huber in colour.
This is not a book about the real Elvis or the many Elvis impersonators, but a fantastic road trip of an icon, in which the character constantly interacts with the places visited, the people and the American history of superficial encounters and cheap motels.
