Letizia Le Fur / Les métamorphoses
“Are not our bodies subject to the law of continual transformation? What we were yesterday, what we are today, tomorrow we will no longer be.” Ovid, The Metamorphoses, Book 15 (1st Century AD)
Les Métamorphoses continues the sensitive interpretation of the myths of Letizia Le Fur. This second book, inspired by the eponymous work of Ovid, evokes the transformations of beings when they must seduce, conquer or flee, in a nature where the plant, animal and mineral can mix and sometimes end up merging. Working with colour as a painter would, the photographer summons the power of wild landscapes, the poetry of the surrounding nature, naked bodies and animals in her images imbued with mystery.
