Persijn Broersen & Margit Lukács
About Persijn Broersen & Margit Lukács
Persijn Broersen (NL, 1974) lives and works in Amsterdam. Margit Lukács (NL, 1973) lives and works in Amsterdam.
They both studied at the Sandberg Institute and the Rijksakademie in Amsterdam. They use a range of different media – especially video, animation, and graphics – and reflect on the ornamental features of society today. The work of Broersen and Lukács is characterized by their quest for sources of contemporary visual culture. With video pieces that incorporate (filmed) sequences, digital animations, and images from the media, they demonstrate how reality, the (mass) media, and fiction are tightly interwoven in contemporary society. Their work has been exhibited all around the world, particularly in China, the United States, Canada, and Australia.
