OPEN CALL

For projects exploring the boundaries of Generative AI in Photography

This call invites artists photographers to reimagine history through image generation.
PROMPT: combine the artistry of photography and the technology of image generation to revisit and reimagine historical events, characters or situations and present a body of works blurring the lines between fiction and reality.

Beyond traditional iconography, how can photographers rethink their relationship with AI? What new creative and conceptual possibilities are emerging from the fusion of photography and generative imagery?

As we approach the bicentennial of photography’s invention by Nicéphore Niépce, how has AI become a catalyst for rethinking the medium, which perhaps is no longer merely defined as a medium of image support but as imaginative in its own right? What kind of photographic imagination can AI offer us?

We are looking for projects that explore the intersections between photography and generative images, highlighting their synergies and contrasts.

Artists are encouraged to explore:

  • The new perspectives offered by the integration of artificial intelligence in the creative process.

  • The temporal and spatial dimensions of the image using generative techniques as DALL·E, Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, Adobe Firefly, Generative AI by Getty.

Conditions for participation

  • being over the age of majority (18+)

  • being an artist photographer

  • should demonstrate at least ONE of these two possibilities:
    - have a track record of professional practice as an artist (exhibitions, publications)
    - have an art school degree

This call is open ONLY for original and unpublished projects.
