About Nicolai Howalt

Nicolai Howalt (DK, 1970) lives and works in Copenhagen (DK). He is a graduate of the Danish school of photographic art, Fatamorgana. He has received honorary scholarships from a number of patrons and institutions, such as the Hasselblad Foundation, the Danish Ministry of Culture, the Danish Arts Foundation and the Danish Council of Arts. Howalt’s work as a photographer covers the fields of documentary, conceptual art and installation. Dualities, connections and temporality are key elements in his work.
