About Mitch Epstein

Mitch Epstein (US, 1952) has been awarded various degrees in the United States. He studied in particular at Williston Academy, at Union College in New York and at the Design School on Rhode Island, then at Cooper Union in New York, where his teacher was Garry Winogrand.

His photographs are included in numerous collections, including the one at MoMA (New York), the Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York), and the Tate Modern (London). Mitch Epstein has exhibited all over the world and has published 15 books, one of which is New York Arbor (2013). The photographer has won a whole series of prizes and awards. In 2020, he was inducted as an academician of the National Academy of Design (New York). Epstein has also worked as a director, director of photography, and producer on a number of films.
