About Laure Vasconi

Born in 1965 in Stuttgard, Germany. Lives and works in Paris, France. After studying architecture (Paris), Laure Vasconi studied photography at the International Center of Photography in New York. When she returned to Paris, she assisted several photographers from the Magnum agency and produced her first personal projects. She began working as a freelance photographer in 1990, doing assignments for the press and various cultural institutions. At the same time, she also exhibited in France and abroad, publishing her first book in 1997. She has taken part in numerous international festivals and exhibited at various foundations, institutes, galleries, and museums. She gives art lessons in schools and colleges with the Ministry for Education and Culture and has taken part in master classes at the Rencontres de la Photographie in Arles. Interested in memory, archives, territory and identity, Vasconi collects family images and stories. She is currently working on the photographic assignments France(s) Territoire Liquide and Paysages Français at the National Library of France.
