Scenes of Self: Redressing Patriarchy (2022)

This project comprises two series that complement each other. In the first series, it features self-portraits of a person dressed in a white shirt. This unique clothing is a way to question the codes and norms established in the professional realm as well as in society. Subsequently, C. Rose Smith creates the second part of this project. Aligned with a similar approach, the artist seeks to illustrate the landscape of the southern United States and the societal paradoxes that exist there. Both series consist of black and white photographs.
