Aliki Christoforou

After working as an architect and set designer, Aliki Christoforou now dedicates herself to her artistic practice. In 2022, she graduated from the photography master’s program at ENSAV La Cambre (Brussels). She is currently continuing her studies in visual arts and space at ERG (Brussels). In 2021, her series Anamnesis won the Libraryman Prize and was published. Since then, her work has been presented in several exhibitions such as Circulation(s), BPS22, Contretype, Promenades Photographiques, and the Centre Wallonie-Bruxelles in Paris. Her films, installations, and photographs, imbued with her Belgian-Greek heritage, navigate between reality and fiction, between history and myth, populate our imaginations, and question our contemporary world. The sea - and more specifically the Mediterranean Sea - is a central and recurring element in her research. Her long-term work explores this maritime space and seeks to forge connections between the different forms of violence that traverse it.
